EasyLunchboxes for the birthday girl and friends!

Two days ago, my oldest tiny princess celebrated her birthday. Not just any old birthday, it was a milestone birthday. She joined the double digit club! It’s so bitter sweet to me. I adore watching her grow into a beautiful young lady, but I miss her baby days with all my heart!

I don’t know about yours, but in our family,  you don’t just have a birthDAY….. No way! It’s a birthWEEK around here! What can I say? We love any chance we get to PARTAY!

Yesterday’s portion of the celebration included tiny princess A being allowed to have a friend spend the night. It was no surprise who she chose. A & S are FOREVER friends for sure. ♥  Tiny princess S was set to arrive right around lunchtime so I thought it would be fun to make up a few Birthday Bash Bentos!

Deciding which boxes to use was a no brainer! Fabulous EasyLunchboxes, of course! In brights! ♥♥ This way all the boxes were the same AND I was able to color coordinate them to each tiny princess!

First up, lunch for the birthday girl! Here is what she had…

• Honey Roasted Turkey and butter sandwich. I used the super fun cake sandwich cutter from our Sweet Treats LunchPunch set to cut the sandwich I added a few sprinkles “glued” with butter to the top and some super fun letter picks to spell out “Happy Birthday”.
• A few frosted animal cookies separated from the sandwich with a silicone divider.
• In the blue “cake slice” silicone cup I added some overly dry carrots that desperately needed to be be eaten up and two cherry tomatoes turned birthday balloons with our fun food picks from All Things For Sale.
• Pink sauce cup with ranch for dipping.
• Small silicone cup (hidden by the EasyLunchbox mini dipper lid) full of small Colby cheese chunks.
• The mini dipper contains all natural strawberry go-gurt that I removed from the tube. I also added more sprinkles…. cause what’s a birthday without em’?
• Baby grapes and apples in the third and final compartment of our Easylunchbox.

Tiny princess S (A’s friend) had a lunch consisting of all the same items. The only thing different was the sandwich. Her sandwich contained: Honey roasted turkey, mayonnaise, and mustard. (those are condiments that I NEVER get to pack for my picky princesses.) Since it wasn't  S’s birthday I decided to cut her sandwich using the cupcake from the same LunchPunch set. Of course I added sprinkles.  AND a mini pepperoni “cherry”.  Ugh! Those carrots look really awful. At least the girls didn’t complain. ♥

Last, but certainly not least…. Tiny princess K’s lunch! (Sometimes it can be really hard being the birthday girl’s sister) K’s lunch contained most of the same items as well. The few changes were as follows: Turkey and cheese sandwich cut with the cupcake LunchPunch, and her fruit side was a bit different too. She had raspberries instead of baby grapes with her apple slices. To be honest she doesn’t care for any of the 3 fruits I included. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, If I don’t continue to offer her these things she may never learn to enjoy them. She ate one apple slice, but that’s it. Babysteps.

All in all it was a lunchtime success! I even overheard tiny princess S tell Allison that she was going to ask her mom if they could pay me to make her lunches when school resumes in the fall! :)

Some things I used to make these lunches…

My first lunches of 2013 and some exciting giveway news!

I know, I know! We are already well into the first month of 2013. So why am I just now sharing these lunches?

Because today’s lunches will be part of a special review and  a GIVEAWAY post! That’s right! I’m having my very first giveaway, which will kick off on Friday of this week! What’s it for you ask? Why, it’s none other than the super fun, often used in tiny princess lunch boxes,  Funbites sandwich/food cutters! YAY! So stay tuned you won’t want to miss it!

These lunches were not school lunches. They were home lunches. I get A LOT of questions from homeschool mamas about whether or not this type of lunch making is something they can still do? My answer to that is ABSOLUTELY!! In some ways I think it’s even better. Your lunches will always stay upright, meaning your cute little touches will always stay neat and tidy! ♥
So, here’s what we had for lunch….

Both girls had……

• turkey/cheese sandwich (hold the cheese for A)
• bbq potato chips
• hard cooked egg star and (sort of) heart
• string cheese cubed
• brown cow maple yogurt
• half of a peanut butter/chocolate wafer bar
• corn with lots of pepper
• packed in our fabulous EasyLunchboxes

Some things I did to make this lunch special….

• cut sandwiches using a super fun cutting tool called the CuteZcute! available at all things for sale
• sprinkles in yogurt adds a fun flair
• add cute food picks to aid in eating finger type foods
• silicone cups are great for adding color and keeping foods separated
• egg molds (when used correctly *note my heart*) add fabulous shape and character

Lunch is puzzling

Oh my how my cupboards are bare! It really is a puzzle just figuring out what to pack. I decided to use this to my advantage today by using one of our LunchPunch cutters that I haven’t used yet. A puzzle! How fun!
I’m not sure why, but I guess I only took a picture of tiny princess K’s lunch today. Not to worry though, A had the same except she got applesauce instead of pineapple.

Scrounged from the pantry, here’s what they had…

Packed in our favorite EasyLunchboxes

• Pretzels with a side sauce cup of Nutella
• Iced animal cookies
• Puzzle shaped Nutella sandwich
• Pineapple
• Christmas themed fruit snacks we need to use up.

It’s getting chilly!

The weather is finally starting to drop where it should be and the tiny princesses are sensing that the first snow fall will be just around the corner! Hopefully Mother Nature will not disappoint! :)
I have quite a bit to post today, so I’ll get on with it. The first set of lunches are from Tuesday. I debated whether to post them or not due to the horrible pictures. Same with Wednesday’s lunch for the guy I love. I got off my soap box about the picture thing though and have accepted that my photos are what they are! So…. here you ya go!!

Tiny princess A and K’s lunches 12/4/12
Exactly the same, except A got grapes and K got applesauce. Have you all figured out yet that these are pretty much the only fruits I can get these girls to eat? UGH! It’s very frustrating!

Here’s what they had…

• Candy Cane Turkey Sandwiches
• Grapes for A. Applesauce for K
• Peppermint sugar cookie
• Holiday shaped pretzels with mini peppermint marshmallows
• A small container of Nutella for pretzel dipping.
• They also each got a Christmas LunchBoxLove note! Get your own here!
• Packed in a holiday cookie container found at Walmart! Proof that anything can be a Bento box!

I’ll admit it. I’ve been slacking on lunches for the guy in my life. He has been going into work sometimes at 4:30am. That is just waaaaay too early for me to get up in the morning! Don’t worry, he hasn’t been going hungry. Leftovers usually do the trick for him. This week though he had a normal time day so I was able to create him a fun lunch! Apparently this one was quite the talk of the lunch table at work! ;)

Just a hodge podge of fun colors and whimsical picks, and lots of love. here’s what he had…

• Mozzarella string cheese cut into chunks and skewered onto sweet heart picks
• Turkey and cheese sandwich. I found the fun bread stamp in the Target dollar spot. It came with two different stamps, but was actually $3 not $1. You still can’t beat though. How cute right? I colored the smiley face with some food safe markers
• A few peanut M&Ms
• Green grapes. Don’t you love the little tree trunk picks? You can find them here at All Things For Sale
• Red grape tomatoes made to look like balloons with the sweet little balloon tie picks also from All Things For Sale
• Silicone heart cup with some Gardetto’s snack mix. YUM! The little blue sauce cup has a little bit of butter to dip his snack mix in. (Yes, he has a major butter addiction)
• Packed in a PlanetBox Rover. Also included some LunchBoxLove!

Now onto today’s lunches. Once again they are the same except for the grapes and the applesauce thing. ;)

Here’s what they had…

• Small sauce container with a few princess fruit snacks
• Crackers
• Salami
• Grapes/applesauce
• String cheese chunks with a cute paper penguin pick
• Dark chocolate mint penguin. YUM!
• Vanilla yogurt in a snowman cup from a local dollar store. Now I now there is a slight penguin theme going on here, but I really though without the lid to the snowman cup the shape resembles a penguin quite well. :) I also added a few snowflake sprinkles to get that “chilly” effect.
• Packed in our Goodbyn sandwich containers.

The new story of a tiny princess lunch box

Once upon a time in a cyber-land far, far way there lived a little blog. It was an ugly blog. One filled with strange graphics and too many polka dots. Tiny Princess Lunch Box, it was called, but the good queen who created it, felt it didn't quite live up to the royalty of its name. One day the good queen decided it was time for a change, so she set off to find the most perfect look in a glorious kingdom called Etsy. Just has she had hoped, Etsy did not fail. There were so many fabulous things to look at, but only few were able to meet the expectations of the queen. These few, the chosen few came together and with the swish of her magic wand the good queen transformed that ugly blog into an adorable, spectacular "site" fit for royalty.... of the tiny variety! And so begins a fresh new chapter in the story of a tiny princess lunch box. ♥

Did you like my story? Okay, so I'm not much of a fairy tale writer. But really, what do ya think of our new look? Isn't it sweet? Isn't it fitting? I think so!

Of course today's lunches could be nothing less than totally princess-ified! Yesterday my tiny princesses got boring lunches... I was still too busy working on the blog. :) Today, they are fun and pretty.
Packed in her favorite Yubo lunch box, (she is BEGGING for another color already) in the larger inner container Tiny princess K had some S'mores trail mix, (created in a little different way so that we could utilize our new heart picks from All Things For Sale!) a crown shaped peanut butter and jelly sandwich, (cut using a cutter from our girly LunchPunches). Just for fun I decided to add some letter picks to her sandwich spelling out her favorite nick name. Still in the larger container, she also had some princess fruit snacks, and some applesauce with sprinkles. The smaller side inner container holds some vanilla yogurt flavored and colored with a hint of strawberry syrup in an EasyLunchbox Mini Dipper. Finally she had some star  cheese chunks that I made by melting some shredded cheddar and transferring to a shaped silicone ice cube tray.

 
Just for a fun special treat today, she also received a 100% juice drink in a princess bottle and some super fun princess tongue tattoos. The tongue tattoos are awfully sour and don't really work that great, but my girls think they're fun and they adore the card that comes in the package. It has a princess on one side and a mirror on the other so that they can see they're tattoos once applied. ♥

As much as I would love to snap a picture of my tiny princesses every morning before they go to school it's just not possible. It's no fun having to catch the bus by 6:45am. This morning though, we miraculously had enough time and Tiny princess K looked too ridiculously adorable not to grab the camera. She decided that I should definitely take picture of her with her lunchbox so that I could "make her famous on the blog".  FYI she has been counting the days until after Thanksgiving because I told her as soon as it was over she could start wearing her Christmas clothes. :) Be still my heart, she has her daddy's dimples!

Unfortunately Tiny princess A was diagnosed with a massive ear infection yesterday and has been home from school the past two days. She was feeling a little bit better today and decided she would like to help me make her a lunch to add to the grand debut of the new blog look.
Also packed in a Yubo lunchbox. In the larger inner container she had, a fairy princess sandwich made with one of our sand-wishes lunchpunch cutters, some Brave fruit snacks, mini pop tart crisps, pretzels. The small blue sauce cup holds her new favorite pretzel dip, Nutella. The smaller side inner container holds a square silicone cup of fruit loops and a heart skewer of multi grain cheerios just for fun. The cheerios didn't stay on too well so we stopped them at the bottom with one mini marshmallow. The planetbox little dipper contains vanilla yogurt with strategically placed crown, glass slipper, and butterfly sprinkles.

And so not to be left out she also got a special 100% juice drink and some tongue tattoos.

We also came up with a great way to carry her Yubo upright so that the contents stay together better! All you need is a little bit of ribbon. :)

Daddy got a special prince-ified lunch today too. We couldn't leave him out of the grand debut. This post got pretty lengthy though so you'll have to wait til tomorrow to see that one.
